Thierry Kepgang Nana – FIDM

Born and raised in Douala, Cameroon, Thierry Kepgang Nana served in the United States Army before attending FIDM. Nana’s FIDM Debut collection was inspired by his personal journey to be the man he’s always hoped to become. He designed an effervescent collection for men and women with a myriad of textures and colors. A variety of techniques, such as fabric dyeing (represent the phases of vulnerability and suffering with lingering hope) and pleated fabric (to signify the torment that can be felt from societal boxes and expectations) bring his sartorial story to life. Nana will continue his journey of earning his bachelor’s degree at FIDM and draws diverse inspiration from Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, and Chanel.
