Designer Mah-Jing Wong
American designer Mah-Jing Wong discovered his love for fashion at age 11. His grandmother taught him how to hand sew and create patterns by cutting out the weekly newspapers. He received his bachelor’s degree in fashion marketing from the Arts Institute of Philadelphia. As a senior, he started interning for top fashion designers Zac Posen, and he launched his clothing own brand in 2011. His work has been described as “denim innovation,” and his bold looks use simple silhouette with hand dyed prints and geometrical shapes. Mah-Jing Wong and his team cut, constructed and shipped all designs. In 2016, he landed a spot on Lifetime Network’s Project Runway season 15. Celebrities who have worn his fashions include Mary J Blige, Christina Millian, Ashanti, Cardi B, Jazmine Sullivan, Megan The Stillion, Lizzo, and Bebe Rexha. And his work has been featured in Billboard, W Magazine, Vogue, and Paper.
