Project Runway Designer Brandon Tyler Kee

Fashion has always been the Utah native’s favorite and strongest form of expression. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Art in fashion design at the San Francisco’s Academy of Art University in 2016 and a year later appeared on season 16 of Project Runway. Kee was the frontrunner at times during the competition and ultimately finished in third place. After the show, he went on to work and collaborate with artists and celebrities, including Imagine Dragons, Njomza, Lauren Giraldo, and Emmalyn Estrada. Kee’s has articulated an idea of luxury–conceptual streetwear borne from his personal style and influences. Some of his fundamental sources of inspiration are architecture, hip hop, and workwear. “It’s always a balance,” he has said. “The trick is figuring what that balance is and how to make it fresh. It’s a mixture of many mediums and trial and error, re-proportioning things, and playing with silhouette.”
