Fashion Week El Paseo™ 2017
FIDM/ Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising
Eniola Hundeyin came from Lagos, Nigeria, to earn a degree in textile design at FIDM and was then accepted into the college's Advanced Fashion Design program. In creating this collection, she was inspired by the distinct style and matrilineal culture of the Tuareg people of Mali and Niger. That semi-nomadic lifestyle makes comfort a key feature of its apparel, and Hundeyin’s line is characteristically loosely draped and protective from the elements. She also incorporates hand-knit pieces into her womenswear collection in bold blues, reds, browns, and golds.
